With the snow in our rearview mirror, our focus now shifts to wind and rain. The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for most of Western Washington, from 3pm Wednesday thru 6am Thursday - calling for winds from the southwest at 25 to 30 mph, with gusts up to 50 mph.

Before you get too concerned: those numbers reflect their thinking across the entire region, and are generally a "worst case scenario" that will probably occur somewhere across the region. For instance, it's looking like the coast and areas north of Everett will get the strongest winds - but for the Plateau specifically, it's looking like gusts in the 30-40 mph range are more likely...though higher gusts aren't out of the question. Still - plenty windy!

As for timing: it'll be breezy overnight and tomorrow (Wednesday) morning, before stronger winds start to pick up midday / early afternoon. The best chance for the peak gusts seems to be in the 5pm-10pm window, though it'll stay gusty overnight too. A decent shot of rain comes along with it - around a half-inch by midnight tomorrow night.

Thankfully, the wind is a "one-and-done" type of wind situation for now - by Thursday, we're just back to regular ol' rain.

Back in the morning with another update!
