Wednesday 9:45pm update: we're still in the thick of it! The system is taking a little longer than expected to move through the area, which keeps the window for peak gusts open til around midnight - though I wouldn't expect it to get much stronger than this. Winds will ease overnight, but remain pretty gusty thru tomorrow morning. The Wind Advisory doesn't expire until 6am
Seeing readings of 30-40mph gusts around the Plateau...looking around the broader area, Bellevue reported a 52 mph on one of the hills north of Newcastle Golf Club earlier, North Bend reported a 51 mph gust, and even SeaTac clocked a 47 mph gust! The PSE outage map shows outage numbers are continuing to increase - a handful of new outages popped up around the Plateau over the past 20 minutes, going from a few hundred to a few thousand customers without power. Unfortunately, I wouldn't be surprised to see those numbers climb even further...
Tomorrow (Thursday) looks calmer, relatively speaking! We'll start off mainly dry, with scattered showers...but the rain will fill in through the afternoon. More details on that tomorrow though!
