⚠️❄️ A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 3pm ❄️⚠️

The National Weather Service just issued a Winter Weather Advisory, calling for an additional 1-2 inches of wet snow, and highlighting the impact to driving conditions.

If it "technically" snowed on Monday night, it definitely snowed last night! I'll venture out into the wonderland in a bit to take a better measurement, but eye-balling the snowfall on my back patio table, looks like a very slushy 1.5-2 inches! It's very wet and dense - I saw someone refer to it as "heart attack snow", since it's so heavy...take frequent breaks if you need to shovel!

We're sitting right around 32º - plenty cold for snow to fall (duh), but once temps start climbing into the mid-30s, the roads should clear relatively quickly. The wrinkle with that is, if the snow keeps falling as heavily as it is, it'll keep the temps close to freezing until later this afternoon.

We're basically in a "nowcasting" situation - watching the radar and current observations more closely than the short-term computer guidance. But the latest guidance indicates precip sticking around throughout the day, finally tapering off overnight tonight. While a transition to a rain/snow mix is likely at some point this afternoon, it's also not unlikely that we stay snow all day.

More updates to come throughout the day!
