Friday 1pm update: The snow is still falling, though temps are inching up - 34ยบ in my back yard. We'll continue inching into the mid- to upper-30s over the next few hours, meaning a changeover to a rain/snow mix or even just rain is likely. But we're not out of the woods yet - both figuratively and literally.
This snow is very wet and heavy...so many trees and limbs already bending and breaking around neighborhoods - as I drove home along Issaquah-Fall City Road, there are so many branches leaning heavily on utility lines. I wouldn't be surprised to see more fallen trees and branches tonight, and an uptick in power (and internet) outages - especially after the winds Wednesday night left things in a weakened state.
But we're also not completely done with snow chances either...precip is expected to last into the overnight hours, and as the temps cool back down, chances for a changeover back to snow is possible. The main difference between last night and overnight tonight is the amount of precip available - the brunt of the rain will shift south by late evening, with just some showers remaining overnight.
