Happy Labor Day Weekend! This is definitely the marker that summer is ending...while we can still get some summer-like weather even into October, we're definitely trending towards more frequent fall weather.
We'll get a little bit of both this weekend...in fact, we kinda had both today (Friday)! This morning and afternoon was beautiful, in the low-70s. Then the showers and thunderstorms rolled in, dropping the temp into the upper-50s over a couple hours! We only got about a tenth of an inch around the Plateau...on the other hand, that cell that scooted just to our north dropped significantly more - 1 to 1.5 inches between Redmond Ridge and Cottage Lake!
Tomorrow (Saturday) looks like it could be a similar setup. Partly sunny in the morning and early afternoon, warming to the low-70s. By the mid- to late-afternoon, more storms could pop off like today - it's hard to predict exactly when or where they'll go, but the general window of "best chances" would be somewhere between 2-8pm. We'll have to see how they develop in real time tomorrow - what is sometimes called "nowcasting", rather than "forecasting"!
The back-half of the long weekend looks much nicer! Any showers on Sunday afternoon should stay closer to the Cascade crest, instead of rolling down into the foothills - leaving us dry. Otherwise, afternoon temps still in the low-70s, with partly-sunny skies.
